NFTs: My Digital Midlife Crisis

If NFTs are the future of art, consider me the guy trying to figure out where the light switch is. My first NFT, a digital still life titled “Pear Pressure,” sold for enough Ethereum to buy me…a moderately fancy sandwich. The second? Let’s just say my mom was the highest bidder.

NFTs are a bizarre blend of ego, tech jargon, and sheer panic. The blockchain feels like a video game where the rules keep changing, and the prize is bragging rights. But there’s something thrilling about it—like shouting your art into the void and hearing a faint echo back. Will I ever be Beeple? Unlikely. But hey, at least I can say I tried.
